AMC welcomes Protonautics and Praxis Aerospace
Christopher Bush, General Manager of Protonautics, said "We are a proudly Australian-owned SME with a reputation for delivering reliable precision engineering solutions. Partnering with the AMC is a great opportunity we can't pass up. Protonautics are AS9100 certified and keen to provide fine-tolerance components, chemical treatments and assembly services to this important national initiative." Protonautics specialises in the manufacture of fine-tolerance components and assemblies for the Defence, Aerospace, Law Enforcement, Medical, Mining and Automotive sectors. The organisation’s AS9100 certification scope includes the “Manufacture of machined components, chemical surface treatments and assembly services.” Protonautics has manufactured precision laser eye surgical components for over a decade and currently supplies components to customers in the space sector, LAND 400 Phase 2, Loyal Wingman and various other Defence programs.
Andrew Hutchinson, Director of Praxis Aerospace, said "Establishment of a sovereign missile design and production capability for Defence is an important step in Australia being self-reliant. Development of new complex guided missiles has a similar level of complexity to the acquisition of new Defence Aircraft or incorporation of Australian unique modifications. This experience combined with our recent experience supporting the Australian Space Industry mean that Praxis Aerospace is well placed to support AMC and the Australian Government in the establishment of this important capability. Praxis Aerospace is a professional services company providing engineering and project management services in support of aerospace and space programs within Australia. Experienced and trusted staff support a range of aerospace engineering and project management disciplines supporting new aircraft acquisitions, aircraft in service support programs including upgrades and space launch licence applications.
